Built on Erie Pennsylvania’s harbor, this facility serves visiting boaters and provides temporary dockage, laundry, showers, locker rooms and a ship’s store to accommodate their stay.
Designed and built immediately following the Dobbins Landing Observation Tower (another EWPPA project), the design mimics the top of the tower and creates a public vernacular to their facilities along the bayfront.
A large translucent pyramid skylight lights the public walkway atrium through the center of the building on the upper level. This level also houses a store and concessions area that serves tourists visiting Erie’s bayfront.
Ground faced polished concrete block and metal roofing panels give the building a festive atmosphere as well as provide maintenance free facility—built to endure Erie’s harsh winter environment.
